So, I start the car, start up the heater, everything fine and then the blower cuts out and the small amount of air flow you get even with the blower off, is cold. And then, a little bit later, it'll come back to life again with warm air merrily circulating around the cabin.

I have replaced the blower motor with a new one but to no effect.

I find it interesting that the blower and heating should cut out at the same time. It makes me think that the fault is either with the heater control panel or a fuse.

Any thoughts?

So, I checked the fuses. They looked OK so I put them back again. Didn't seem to make any difference.

Then I took the heater control panel out - oh what fun. And guess what? Everything all of a sudden works, no cut outs, lots of lovely warm air (eventually). And it still works, three whole days later.

But why should that be? The connector for the heater control would not look out of place in a nuclear power station - it's that well made - so how taking that out and putting it back in would make a difference I just don't know.

Maybe, it's not fixed. Maybe it's all going to come back to haunt me one of these days.
