Hello everyone I am enquiring for help.i have a 2017 b 200 and the fuel consumption appears to be terrible. According to the on board calculator on the dash it averages 34 mpg. It appears to use a half tank of fuel over a range of 120-135 miles. All filters have been changed recently . It has no warning lights on and had no dtc’s in memory Any advice or help is grateful

Welcome.

Is this a petrol car, or Diesel? If Diesel, di it have the 'Dieselgate' recall done? What engine size? Manual, automatic, or DSG/DCT? What were your fuel consumption expectations, and what were thet based on? What kind of journeys do you do - short/long city/motorway? Does the engine reach operationg temperatures quickly (80⁰C+)? What wheel size, and what tyre pressures are you running? What's the mileage, and what service history does the car have?

It’s diesel 2.1 18’inch wheels. Had the emission recall done auto gearbox a combination of journeys some motorway and some town driving . When on motorway you can see fuel gauge dropping over a short period. i was expecting more than what its achieving.

Was the mpg better before the emissions recall?

City driving , stop start stuff ?
Eco is eratic on it anyway works when it wants too boot. I am returning to the dealer I bought from this week to be looked at. Have a feeling although car starts well etc the battery may not be good enough for eco as it was sat for a while before I purchased it

I meant is your driving all city stuff ?

Whats the engine temp saying.
If running cool (due to stat problem) this will drink more fuel

needs to be nearer 90. Change the stat for a genuine.
It looks like a genuine one is fitted to the car being honest with you. All looks original still.
