Hi guys, new member here on the look out for a W204 C63. Like most on here Iā€™m sure, Iā€™m no stranger to high performance cars and have owned several over the years. Most recent being an M3 & RS4. I still own the M3 (which is staying). The RS4 money pit is gone....

Iā€™ve never owned an AMG, but have driven a few. The C63 has always been a car I have wanted to own, and nearly bought a new one in 2012, but in the end I never went ahead with it.

Ideally Iā€™m after a coupe, with no more than 40k miles on the clock. Obviously Iā€™d ideally like a car to be a PPP with LSD. However they do look to be rare & the ones for sale all look to have higher miles and IMO are not priced accordingly. Similar with the 507 & most (surprising) donā€™t look to have an LSD - whatā€™s that about Merc!

For those who have driven with & without an LSD, did you notice a big difference (discussed to death I know)? Car wonā€™t see any track work. But I just canā€™t get my head around it not having an LSD. So with a remap & lsd there is an additional Ā£2k on to the purchase price right away.

Anyway if you have something of interest, please post away or if you just want to say hello šŸ‘‹.

Im located is Scotland, so ideally something in my small little wet country would be great. However Iā€™m willing to travel for the right car. Budget is Ā£25k. May be able to stretch a bit for the right car.

Cheers. :-).

Welcome šŸ‘

Iā€™ve never noticed a difference when driving cars with lsd, however, i probably do not drive aggressively enough for it to be of use.

Still, I was surprised (when I bought mine) that the SL55 never had them as standard. But again, I have never found myself wishing it did have one.

good luck in your search.

Thanks dickster. šŸ‘

If you're remapping, I'd definitely get an LSD, but it's highly dependent on driving style. If you pootle, you won't notice it... but i assume you don't, or you wouldn't be considering a remap šŸ˜

I have an E63 not C63, but my biggest surprise after fitting the LSD was the difference it made to traction in straight line acceleration... expected in the corners.

What model RS4 did you have? I went the modded B8 S4 route as the RS4 prices were just too high! Great car and definitely quicker than the equivalent RS4, but sadly gone now.

Hi Rich.
Pootle occasionally lol. Not really the car to buy for that :-). Remap was really only a thought of fitting an LSD as Iā€™d probably make the journey to one of the tuners.

Itā€™s was a B7 RS4. Just a tick list car. Great all round/all weather car. But I was a bit unlucky with it. Cost me a small fortune over the 3 years I owned it. I did put 30k miles on it though.

I've owned both the saloon i had did have the lsd which was brilliant, sold it for the V8 M3 bi g mistake so I bought a coupe ppp car without lsd which was booked in at MSL for the lsd, people will say you don't need 1 personally I say you do and definitely notice the difference šŸ˜‰ also I wouldn't remap a ppp car there's no need

Good to hear you felt the difference. What did you not like about the E92 M3? Was it a DCT? I suppose the lack of torque in comparison makes quite a substantial difference.

Yes it was DCT don't get me wrong it was a great car if you drove it above 5k but the lack of torque did it for me, the c63 is a completely different animal

Yes, you certainly need to push/drive them to get the best from them. Which I like tbh, but I understand that's not for everyone.

Having own a standard C63, now modified into a complete BEAST.... I would advice not to be too picky about options. LSD can be easily fitted with a Quaife or Wavetrac after owning the car. The main criteria would be a well maintained car with good service history. Please note that main MB dealers service history is not always all that. I personally will buy a car with service history done by reputable indie.

W204 C63 prices are currently on the ascending, as with all other marques. PPP is desirable but having supercharged a standard C63, I see no added benefits. All depends on whether you going to remap or not.

Hi yes I agree, specialists tend to be better than the dealers. I struggle to trust dealers tbh.
SC C63 will be a total beast. Probably too much for road use though šŸ˜‚šŸ˜¬

Does anyone think the 507 premium is worth it ?

I suppose itā€™s a larger outlay, but probably higher value retaining/safe money.

507 will retain value better.
Similarly, prices are also higher this time round.

Personally i can't justify the price difference between the 507 and the PPP
507 low to mid Ā£40k
PPP mid to high Ā£20
Standard c63 low to mid Ā£20
Depending on spec mileage etc šŸ¤”
