W212 6.2l e63 - options + mileage game

What torque ? that was the main problem I found (I came from C63 PP) so i sold it and bought the C63 PPP šŸ™‚ which I sold for the M177 c63 saloon which I kept for 2 year's and sold, F-type V6s was good but to slow so now I have my C63s coupe which isn't going anywhere

I don't follow the 'what torque? ' question.

2 x 204 and 2 x 205. Was there much difference between the c63 PP and PPP

The M3 has next to no low down grunt especially for a v8 compared to the C63
As for difference between the 204 C63 pp vs the ppp
PP was alot furmer suspension slower gear changes (not a patch on the DCT) and quite abit slower as on paper its only 457bhp ,you did get the LSD as standard though I had the M3 after that car and hated it
The 204 ppp is better interior quicker gear changes alot more power (mine was 503bhp ) totally standard I had the LSD fitted the 1st week i had it
They were both nice car's and tbh I wasn't keen on the w205 until I drove 1 yes the saloon looks abit boring but imo they are way ahead of the W204 Which I thought id never say ,then I got the C63s coupe which is another level up again and in-between all that I had the SLK55 AMG which I enjoyed aswell sounded unreal with the xpipe šŸ˜€

Oneā€™s perspective on the argument about which is better - an earlier model or a later model - really depends on how youā€™ll use the car.

If itā€™s your main car and/or you will use it a lot, then newer cars are almost certainly ā€œbetterā€ by the majority of objective measures.

If itā€™s your fun car for high days and holidays, or one of several cars then the older car is often ā€œbetterā€ but usually by subjective measures.

Someone will mention the few exceptions to the rule, however there arenā€™t many.

Ahh okay, got you on the lack of torque, thought you may have been thinking about your 204s. the first 10 to 15 minutes of a v8 m3 commute is tricky while it is being warmed up but other than that and perhaps if you're trying to save on petrol by keeping the revs low, the car has the perfect amount of power to rev the living crap out of it and feel like you're a hot shot racing driver as you can just keep redlining it and it is pretty much effortless to do. It's got this induction sound that's out of this world. Put that roof down and then it makes sense. I think the exhaust on mine is modded as it has a rasp that shouldn't be there and it's really loud.

I see what they did with the steering, it's heavy but has a really quick turn in which is possibly too quick from centre but it makes it feel very sporty but even my porky convertible just has perfect weight balance and incredibly fun throwing it into corners. It's probably slightly heavier than my w212 e63 but hides it well.
One issue is when you're on the motorway in 7th gear you are well over 2.5k revs at 70mph so its not the best motorway cruiser. On crap tyres like my pirellis, it becomes a handful in the rain. I'm going to stick conti SC7s on the front and keep the crap pirellis in the back as the car feels more powerful šŸ˜… I'm definitely enamoured with the little bmw. I don't trust doing silly things in it at higher speeds (maybe i need a track session ) but if you gave me a c63s 205 , I'd be completely confident sliding and drifting it around as its that good at doing thatšŸ‘ but id take the estate over the saloon personally. Never driven the coupe which is supposedly the fastest of the bunch with its reworked suspension etc

I do agree with most of that its just a totally different driving style mine was stunning to look at aswell roof down but ugly roof up just wish the c63s was in the same colour combo

The exhaust will probably have the back box mod done 2,3 or 4 pipe we're the options basically cut it open remove the sound deadening and weld a sleeve over the perforated pipes inside i had the 4 pipe done on mine

Roof up the day i sold it
Wow just look at it, it's totally stunning even with the roof up. The paintwork and rims looked immaculate. Does the colour have a slight purple tint ?

Yes its an individual car Ruben's swartz (ruby black) with exstended champagne leather

Is this your old car ? The paintwork is unbelievable, it's like it has a layer of glass on top. I think next on my list is an s213 e63s but I bet it's not as much fun as the c63s

Yes that's my old car it didn't look like that when I bought it
I looked at a few E63 but as I've said before I couldn't get past the rear end ,it just reminded me of a taxi šŸ™‚

There's no getting around how bad the pre facelift rear end looks, and especially in black šŸ˜³

The facelift is smarter though

The exhausts don't seem to sit right in my opinion on the FL I also think the rear is trying to hard. Something over the top for me. But it's good we all have a different opinion.

The fake exhaust tips are atrocious , the real tips on the PFL are much better however the rear end on the facelift is more angular and sporty and cooler IMO. A black w212 is 100% a taxi šŸš• overall rather than a handsome beefy looking muscle car . Mine has the carbon exterior package and still looks meh

I'm not sure i like the facelift too much either unfortunately but it doesn't look as ancient as the pfl

The exhaust tips are "fake" on both models really.....just ones that are properly attached on the PFL....the actual exhaust in tiny compare to the outlet tacked on the end. I actually prefer the PFL look...especially at the front....looks more "angry"....but I would not say no to either!!

The PFL tips are attached to the exhaust back boxes as i understand it so i wouldn't go as far as calling them fake . That would imply every exhaust tip is fake ?

The front of the pfl looks better to me too but sadly there's no LeD intelligent lights like the FL has

I can see where Alfaitalia is coming from. Whether the oversized decorative tip is attached to the back box or the bumper or not, it contributes less to being ā€œfakeā€ than the fact the exhaust pipers are much smaller that the tips.
