Hello! New here!

The car looks like a bargain to me but isn't the insurance on a 2.0L W124 going to be prohibitively expensive for a 19 year old?

You say you've had some quotes - if you dont mind me asking, what sort of numbers did they come back with?

an affordable 2,697.86 regrettably. But, with what im on now, and uni loans coming through, 2 businesses under my belt, i think i can manage and start on the mods.

Offer £400 cos...
It's a crap colour, rusty as hell, small engine, manual, no aircon, old smoker.

Then when you get it
Colour's actually ok, rusty as hell, 200 engine isn't too bad, manual DOES suit the engine, has a sunroof - who needs aircon, classic Mercedes.

If it's ok, they are a really really nice car to drive. I ran a similar one for a year, and paid out under £50 for parts (which it didn't need) - totally reliable.

If all goes well you can sell it when you've had enough of it, and not make a loss.

And if it all goes Pete Tong? You're in it for £400. Thats a months lease cost for a Fiat.

Edit: And the number plate looks like it might be a private plate :) (to untrained eyes!

wow, thanks! i actually didnt see your reply until i started reading everyones.
I think i might have to haggle the price then! yeah, does anyone know if the paint will be available at halfrauds? I'm a paint man, so i could probably fix that up myself.

Can anyone recommend me a good place to look for mercs second hand? the one i was looking at was sold an hour ago :/
