I'm sure it's sacrilege to say this, but I've been a BMW man for a long time.
Six weeks ago I refreshed our fleet and bought myself a 550i GT and a 120d convertible for my wife.
To cut a long story short, the GT was nothing short of a disaster and I had to call BMW assist 3 times in the first 3 weeks. And whilst it had all the luxury and power befitting of its £66k (eek!) price tag, it simply wasn't a great drive (dreadful under steer and would crash through potholes).
In the end BMW took it back and I had a bit of a hunt around for something cheap and cheerful to run me around whilst I considered what I really wanted next.
Which led me to find a 2001 C208 CLK320. With only 1 owner from new. With a full MB service history. And with only 28,000 miles!
And I'm really quite liking it.
But we then ended up with a pair of small (amazing how diddy the CLK is!) impractical cars (we have a 2yr old and a dog crossed with a horse). So the wife's car needed changing. And we're now completely converted from BMW to Mercedes:
