Hi everyone, just got a 2002 ml320 which has a audio 10 cassette installed.

I am looking to get a double din sat nav system and am looking at the zenec/inphase xt8020 - does anyone have any experience of these at all?

also would i need a fascia or any other extra leads? Also does anyone know of a good reasonably priced installer? i am located in london

It may also be worth considering retrofitting the original COMAND navigation system. On a 2002 car retrofitting original COMAND is very easy and now that the cars are older the units themselves are a lot cheaper.

We retrofitted APS30 navigation (which is just single DIN) into our ML.

Not sure about either of the aftermarket units that you mentioned.

THanks for your quick reply! We have the command units fitted on another couple of mercs in our household (2002 E200, 2007 s55) and both of them have been nightmares!

Do you know of any good installers that would be able to fit them?

Thanks for your advice avantgarde, i ended up installing the kenwood dnx 5260 double din version - very good head unit!

Did you need to purchase an additional surround as the space a Command unit takes up is larger than a regular double din head unit, unless I'm mistaken?

Thanks.

Cheekster.

Hi cheekster, i didnt have a command unit - just the basic audio 10 interface. the 5260 came with a fascia surround as well so it sits flush... very impressed by this system - its brought up the quality a lot from the stock speakers plus the navigation unit is brilliant as well!
