Help - Bolt that Mercedes say doesn't exist

It probably does exist, just not sold separately. It may come if you buy the whole housing.
I spent about an hour with Mercedes Southampton yesterday looking at various part diagrams on the screen and one of them showed this screw. Its a standard part for the OM642830 350 V6 CDI engine as have looked on a number of images and they all have them so bizarre as why its not listed as the amount of people that must drop them every time the filters are changed!

Quick update so the the ones from eBay arrived and the diameter isn't correct and the thread is to tight. I phoned Mercedes again and quoted the P/N A0019846629 and was told, of that's a common self tapper used on many models......but not yours, Ok well can you order one so I can test, which they have done. Will see tomorrow if it fits.

It cuts its own thread during installation. the now VERY frequent plastic gubbins found in cars these days. A smooth hole is moulded in whatever the plastic part is , the line worker with his/her battery screwdriver does the rest.

Can also be used on clearance holes in conjunction with a captive 'nut'

If there is enough meat around the hole just drill it out a bit.

This looks exactly like it, I make it 25mm long and 5mm give or take diameter. Does that sound right for that part?
I think it is 30mm long, 5mm diameter.

To be honest being a self tapping screw, if the extra length is a problem you can quite easily cut 5mm off the end.

N000000000464 is a 25mm, 4.8mm diameter self tapper. No decent picture that I can find.

There's this too:

Although it is a 25x4.8mm it is a sheet metal screw, not a self tapper, so would probably require a lot of effort to screw in.

I just bought a second hand air box from ebay last time I was missing a screw, removed all the screws and chucked the box in the bin, £12 I think it was.

So latest update from Mercedes A0019846629 doesn't fit it is the right length but to smaller a diameter. Original bolt top, new part bottom.

Think I'll just give up and glue it.

Would have been faster in the first place, to take a sample in to Mercedes , and say i want one of these .Truth be known, i bet that screw is used in 100 of places on your car . And it only took 30 post to sort out one screw .
