A bit late, and perhaps would not work, however, I was taught that at the scene of an accident where the engine was running and you could not gain entry to turn of the ignition, Block the exhaust, this would stop the engine in short order. May come in handy sometime in the future.

Definitely is effective on small 1L motors, did this to friends when we were younger as a wind up.

I'm sure it would work well on the 3.6 if you could get enough of a seal.

You would need 10 hands to cover all the holes in my exhaust!

Can't you cover the exhaust pipe with a suitable wet cloth.This should cut the engine.
