HELP NEEDED W166 GLE250D

Hi forum I'm looking for some help with my 2016 GLE250d recently purchased.

I bought the car less than a month ago and have found there to be a knocking type of noise from the engine (52500 miles on car) it's currenty in with mercedes main dealer Loughton to have it checked under used car warranty, but they've just called me saying they can't find a fault and it's a normal noise from that type of car. But this can't be as every single person even the lady who booked it in at the garage said yes there's a strange noise which isn't right. I'm going back to collect it tomorrow, I wanted to ask If there is anyone who could have a look at it and maybe pin point the fault. This is my 4th mercedes diesel and I've never experienced this type of noise and don't think I can live with it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Why don't you try taking it into another dealer (Mercedes Lakeside) for a second opinion.
All the dealer technicians do these days is hook the car up to the computer to see if there is a fault, if no fault is registered then it's good to go.
They don't investigate problems like they use to.

If you still don't get anywhere take it in to an independent garage and ask them to diagnose the problem.

Yea that's not a bad shout. I'll see what the technicians say tomorrow on the test drive and if they still say it's normal I'll tell them to book it in with lakeside
