Mercedes W211 E280 Cdi Sport Estate
VIN number WDB2112202B055872
Can anybody confirm the part number as A0029934296- it's the serpentine belt for the power steering, water pump & alternator.
I need to order one in France(in French) on the telephone so would like to be as prepared as possible.
Whenever I use the online tools I seem to go around in circles!
Fitting seems to be very simple(if access allows), slacken the tension off with a 17mm socket, insert the belt as per the online diagrams et voila the jobs a good un???
Many thanks as always.

Unfortunately it's in very small pieces neatly tied in a bow!

You omitted the aircon compressor ??
Assuming that was an oversight : A0029934296
2035mm long

You may need to change the idlers when you fit the new belt. When I did mine the bearings were noisey, left on the bench for two days and one was seized solid.

Many thanks everyone. Yes, I forgot that(air con compressor). Regards Rob.

Many thanks. Maybe it’s best I let the local mechanic look at it. The belt snapped for a reason & she’s coming up to 300k now so might be prudent. Thanks again everyone for your rapid help.

Good plan. I did a belt and braces job on mine, changed the water pump, alternator clutch pulley, tensioner, idlers. Not going back there for a good while. The car had done 105 K when I did the work.

The belt came off easily- there were no markings on it at all. It doesn't look in very good condition though. I have attached some photos to see if anybody can draw any conclusions from them. I wonder if something has seized & the lines on the smooth side are where it has been dragged around the seized area(if indeed there is one). No symptons of hot running before, power steering OK & air con ok too. On the morning in question there was a slight noise that increased with revs but it was nothing loud & then it disappeared before coming back again. Anyway I got a new Mercedes belt this morning for €67(about £55 with no postage) so not too bad.

To me that looks like one of the idler wheels that goes on the outside of the belt is seized causing the outside of the belt to look like that. Check all your pulleys and idler wheels and also check if water pump etc go round the outside of the belt.

If you need part numbers in the future I always use realoem.com

It’s for BMW when you land on the page but you’ll find links for other brands. Very useful

The link for Mercedes cars sends you to the Nemigaparts ECP, as in Post#4.

Here's the new one in comparison.

As per usual when I entered my VIN of WDB2112202B055872 it said it was not recognised. What am I doing wrong? I want to change the idlers & the tensioner too. I found the tensioner as A64 220 013 070 but cannot find the idlers. Where would they be? Many thanks. Rob.

Just click on the Car icon, go to 211 and scroll down to your model which is 211.220
That will give you all the EPC for the car.
I've done it for you below.

The only link I can see for an idler pulley is below, but it has no Part# ??

You may have to get that number from the main dealer.
