Would like some help from more experienced people please.

Am going to take the door handle and lock off the doors on the W124, and was going to have it controlled by a Clifford Alarm and have poppers inside the car for the rear doors.

But, according to MOT standards, you need to have a manual release of the front doors on the inside and outside of the car.
So, whilst the alarm fob unlocks the door, i was thinking of putting TVR style door poppers on, manual ones of course and have the button underneath the door mirror which when pressed, voila, open the door!

What i would like to know is how i am supposed to go about doing this?

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

well you would need a heavy duty electronic actuator attached to the door puller rod.. concievably its not too hard.. but in practice.. hmmm

you would then operate the actuator with the button on the remote... for the central locking just tap into the cars central locking pump..

I would have used a motor and a cam that revolved once each time, the high point of the cam would open the door, and at the same time the cam could operate a switch so that it only revolved once per action

Isn't there something in the regulation to the effect that the doors must be capable of being opened without relying on the battery?

Even if there isn't such a rule, I'm not sure I would want to be unconcious in a wrecked car where the first people on the scene couldn't get me out asap because the battery was damaged in the crash.

Don't bother, it won't suit a W124.

And I'm also sure all the doors need to be able to be opened without assistance of power.
