The yellow roof symbol is lit up on the dash and I cannot close the roof.

I tried opening and closing/locking the car a few times. I've tried with the engine running and stopped, and I'm confident that the rear Comfort Battery is charged as the steering column moves up and down etc.

I've checked all the fuses in the fuse box at the front. Still no joy.

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm thinking I might try and disconnect the rear Comfort Battery for a few seconds (tricky to get at with the roof down..) in the hope something will reset. But truthfully I'm shooting in the dark here....

HELP! :wallbash:

Thanks :)

I know it's down... But could it be the sensor on the pull out boot thingy?
I checked the boot cover thingy and it was in place.

Despite that, I managed to lift it up enough for it to un-clip, then pushed in back into the clips.

No joy

Thanks :)

Is there a way to manually operate the roof in an emergency (check the handbook)? I know there is on the R129.

Bill, thanks for the suggestion :)

There isn't a manual way of closing the roof.

But problem solved. I disconnected the rear Comfort Battery, counted to 10, and re-connected it. Bingo! The roof works great. (Pulse rate now at normal....car is secure for the night....)!

Trouble is that I disconnected the front engine battery first, and now every time I start the car a big fat Red Warning comes up with a picture of a battery and a "1 Malfunction message".

How on earth do I reset and get rid of that?

Thanks :)

That must be a relief! Sounds like it may have logged a fault code that'll need clearing via STAR.

Glad you got it sorted... Need to find out why it did it now...
That's a good point :thumb:

I have a Cabrio roof module fitted (by me) and despite taking plenty of time and care installing it, it will be the first thing I check for dodgy connections tomorrow...

Thanks :)

I would of thought that there would be a manual overide switch in the car somewhere on the car?
I dont know it it is electric motors or hydraulic via a pump if it is pump it would have a relieve valve on the or around the pump, hydraulic hose,

There is a process for closing the R230 roof manually ... not simple though!

"Not simple". Blimey, you weren't understating the matter

I think I might print off a copy and keep it in the glove compartment along with a 6mm Allen key.

Alternately, stowing a waterproof car cover might be an easier and quicker temporary solution.

By the way, thanks for the link. I now know what that strange red button is on the RHS of the boot. No need to squeeze the shopping in through a narrow gap anymore

Life without this forum: unthinkable :)

Many, many thanks
