Hi All,
I'm looking to get a replacement Speedo for my R107. It's proving a little elusive, so I'm hoping owners will help.
Basically, I'm trying to find what part number speedo will fit my car, so I thought a nice little collection of part numbers might help others out too:-
If you wouldn't mind adding to the list below, that would be really helpful. I'm specifically interested in post 86 cars, but I guess others may be interested in pre 86, so fire away!
The part number is on the bottom of the speedo dial, and will be in the format A107 542 ?? 01
The ?? is the Mercedes revision number, and is what I'm trying to establish so I can see which speedo is from which car, and what might work in mine!
Heres mine as a starter:-
Part Number: A107 542 85 01
Year: 1989
Engine Type: 500
Gearbox: Auto 4 Speed
Diff: LSD
Type: Electro-Mecahnical
Gear Markers: at 47, 82 and 136 MPH
You can tell if it's mechanical as it will be silver on the back with a boden cable attached, if electro-mechanical it will have a white plastic cover and a six pin cable going into it (and a circuit board).
The problem with mine isn't the gears by the way, it's been confirmed as a faulty (and obsolete) power distribution amplifier on the board, so the speedo needle works but the odometers don't turn.
