help with w126 500sel '88 when hot cuts out

Hi everybody.
Just got decent w126 500sel with cutting out problem. When engine reaches normal working temperature it cuts out. Previous owner said that Mercedes specialist said it was alternator. Sounds weird as alternator seems to charge the battery and give relatively normal readings from a multimeter hooked up - around 14 v when vehicle is running.

Any suggestions?

Crankshaft position sensor. Common fault on later models but rarer on earlier cars. Either that or the EZL ignition unit overheating.

Hi again.
Does anyone have schematic of the tacho/ alternator wiring as tachometer is not working as well. Alternator is dodgey , but still i don't believe its the main problem. I will replace it and see what will happen but schematic would be much appreciated.
