Hi all,

Picking up my 2013 C63 AMG tomorrow.. very excited.. :bannana:

After 3 years and lots of motorway miles in a brisk but safe and efficient Audi A7 BiTDI i'm looking forward to grinning again and sweating as i exit damp roundabouts.. I've really missed rear wheel drive, and naturally aspirated petrol!

chipping, LSD and Track days ahead hopefully.

Will post some pictures as soon as Doris moves on and the sun comes out down here by the South Coast.

Have done a lot of reading so thanks for everyone sharing their experiences and good advice on this forum.

cheers

simon

Nice one Simon. Welcome to the forum.

What part of Dorset? I'm in Poole.

Me too. Nice to have some local expertise. :thumb:

Didn't pick up the car in the end. Turns out Mercedes didn't fix the issue causing the fuse to blow on the lumbar support buttons.. they deny knowing about the rubbing wire issue, even though it's all over the forums! So it's going back in.

Another week. :wallbash:

Welcome to MBClub and congratulations on the new car. Shame the dealer didn't fix the issue but I'm sure it will be worth the wait to have it sorted.

Your ears and heart will love you for making the change. Both will come alive after the impressively competent (but dull) BiTDi :thumb:

You nailed it.. the audi does everything amazing well.. but the quattro is really mostly front wheel drive, the noise comes out of speakers in the exhaust system.. and in the end you just can't get excited about driving it..

hopefully friday pick up.. lets hope its a nice day

I'm likely to be in dorset on Friday

I'll keep my ears open for you :thumb:

Welcome.. I'll be the grinning fool trying to shake Corfe Castle off its foundations :bannana:

By the way - here she is... all ready to go.. except for the damn seat wiring!

There's been a lot of "blacking out" going on!

That is disappointing:wallbash:. Did MB -Sandown Poole supply it?
A few more sleepless nights now:D

They're not supplying, but they're effectively preparing it by giving it a b service and dealing with a few bits and bobs that needed doing such as the defunct lumbar on the seats. It's only just out of warranty so seller trying to get them to sort it out.. we will see. In the meantime I've had the tint done and wrapped the chrome.

Have you any experience of MB Poole? This is my first MB so wondering if they're any good..

I'll want to keep the Service history with MB, but might go to Hughes for anything else as they seem to have a goof reputation for Mercedes? Any tips for a MB Noob in Poole?

My E55 is out warranty a long time ago so I don't use main dealer for servicing. The parts dept there are good though, so is the coffee:D

I take my AMG to MBS in Southampton who use OEM parts and update the electronic service record to maintain warranty. All ex MB techs and halfmain dealer labour charges.

If you get any minor niggles and don't want to drive to Southampton, Startech at Creekmore next to Makro are pretty good. Again , all ex MB Poole techs and cheaper for labour rates.

Brilliant.. thanks for the great advice.. I'd have had no idea where to go. Hopefully no need for any work for a while as she's just been serviced.

Cheers

picked her up.. gave her a blast saturday morning in the hills nearby..

bonkers power and noise - goes like an intercontinental missile..
looking forward to some dry roads!

bit of a buzz/vibration from the road above 70 even on smooth surfaces. looking at the history very carefully, one of the wheels has been welded.. is this likely to be a slight balance or roundness issue - i think i'll start with a trip to my nearest hunter balancing machine.
