You will probably have to pay for any treatment btw, they assume that if it's car-related someone's insurance will pay and you'll be able to get the money back.

What a kerfuffle with reporting it all now. Last accident I had (not my fault) we didn't call the Police, and the insurance companies didn't advise us to do so either.

Depends on whether there were any injuries - either way, the insurance company couldn't care less whether you get arrested for leaving the scene of an accident etc...
