Hi

I bought a 2019 A Class in February from an authorised dealer. It had 8,200 miles on it and they had just given it an A service.

I’m now at 18,500 miles and it says it’s due a B service.

Is this right? Feels really quick to me.

Would you follow the schedule religiously or would you delay?

TIA

If you’ve done more than 10,000 miles in around 10 months, then if the service indicator has just appeared then it probably thinks you’ll have hit the mileage due within the next month, which sounds about right.

Sticking the service schedule is a very personal thing. Lots of people ignore it, some people loosely follow it, others follow it. Independent Mercedes specialists and local garages “may” reduce the cost a litre.

Given the mileage you’re doing - and presumably you have a warranty if you bought it from a main dealer - then I’d service it. Enquire about a service plan with your main dealer, it may save you money.

If shopping around for service prices l, ask specially which additional items are included, so that you can compare. Some garages don’t do anything more than an oil change so of course they can undercut.

That's a good point.

If the car is an Approved Used Mercedes Benz, then it will have 1-year Approved Used warranty, and keeping with the service schedule is important or your warranty may not be valid.

Approved Used warranty is different to new car warranty, meaning that the manufacturer can stipulate dealer servicing (which they aren't allowed to do for new car warranties).
