Hi everyone, had my w202 c200 a week now, and cant help but notice the horn is really puny, sounds as if it is not getting enough power, have checked fuse, and seems ok but tried my mates c180 (1996 model) and horn sounded far better. Can anyone help?

Sounds like the electric connectors could do with a clean.

Edit: Yours probably has one horn (Front left hand side under wheelarch liner) Models after Sept 1996 have two horns, maybe this is why yours sounds puny in comparison.

Could well be some sort of problem with the horn. I have only one horn and it doesnt sound puny at all.

Horns in general have a tuning screw on them. Try adjusting it and see if it makes it louder.

One of the c class horns can be replaced with a high tone one made by ring available in halfords. easiest way to get to it is underneath the car. they mount and connect up in exactly the same way and it makes a hell of a difference.
