How about this?

I was gonna say 14.2 is way to slow for the e55 amg I think i could easily manage 13.6- 13.4 if i go there its worth a try, ive done the 0-60 runs and that was in 4.7-4.8secs in the e55 but never done a 1/4mile i'd love to go there one day...

Well you know how we like a challenge..Go On Then..:bannana:

so is it a 3series with a 7.5 litre engine. 141 mph in 10.8. that is quick.
The rear wing on that escort will surely create more drag than downforce.
Why is he running with wings anyway on a main straight. surprised he could see the road with that intake intercooler

That RX7 was one of the quickest "standard" cars. It flew..

Not saying it isnt quick, infact I know they are very quick cars when they are made they made to compete with the big boyes but I would of thought the e55 amg would beat it? is the e55 standard or remaped?:)

Was there any ZO6 cars there ?or any american muscle

No Z06 but here were a couple of Stalen..? that went ok, and a number of tricked up Ford Lightning pickups..

Well a 2.6 ****el according to the FIA is equal to 4.7 litres reciprocating
so the rx7 i think is 1.3litres ****el

very surprising indeed.
Time to bring out the SRT-10

Nice work Grav.

I used to spend a considerable portion of my life at a place called Willowbank in QLD, Australia and our rules of thumb for road registered cars (daily drivers) were as follows - keep in mind that it was 1995/1996.....

Standard V8 Vauxhalls (Holdens) : 15-16 seconds
Standard Turbo WRX and 200SX : 14-15 seconds
Boosted WRX and 200SX : 13-14 seconds
WRX and 200SX with bigger turbos : 12-13 seconds
Lightly worked V8s : 12-13 seconds
Moderately worked V8s : 11-12 seconds
Bonkers V8s : 10-11 seconds

Occasionally there would be some rotaries and turbo 4 cylinders that would scrape into the 10 or 11 second bracket, however they drove like pigs and were a complete handful.

Best I managed was a 13.89 in my 200SX (cat-back, press bent exhaust system + T piece boost controller).

I loved those days.

Scott

Edit: For you to get a 14, I'd say you had some traction issues? Having been in your car, I would have called it as a high 12 on a reasonable day. I don't know how that strip compares to others for elevation and timing.

It was a good day out, Thanks Graeme.

Before you look at the times please remember Grav has half of his worldly belongings in the boot of the car, including two bass bins, two angle grinders, torch, boots, jackets, 5 litre can of dodgy liquid, ten cans of lager, bottle of wine....This is like the generation game, though can't remember a cuddly toy...

no - because I got Eeyore back :D

Looks like a good time was had by all. What does it do for your tyres?

Fastest Scooby was in the 13's and that was a very highly pressured car.

I think the wind didn't help, it was strong and blowing straight back down the track against the cars.
To give an idea how strong the wind was it blew over some of the temporoary fencing at one point.

Surprisingly little damage, in fact unnoticible when checking. It's only three wheelspins, if you bother at all.

And as everyone knows, I never do big burnouts:rolleyes:
I think I'll invest in some slicks for next time:devil:

Well done Graeme a great show. Can't wait, is it September?

Wide back axle:

Not so wide:crazy:
The kid in this one was actually sitting waiting to do his run and bouncing and rocking the thing all over the place, just by moving in the car:eek:
