how can i get a new lock

Hi, my son decided to glue in the lock to my roll top central console when playing in the car. He stuck the super adhesive stuff right into the lock, and i think it is pretty much screwed up!

How can i get a new lock / barrell?

What i mean is the i want a replacement original lock that matches my car keys etc.. i dont want a new lock with new keys for the centre console and a seperate key for my ignition.. just want to get this sorted now with the same key for everything.

go to mercedes colindale on tuesday, ask for Steve and say I passed you on, he should sort it! but it wont be cheap.

When my father had his 230te, he had this issue in the 80s, and he ended up getting a new ignition and key for the car whilst everything else was on the old keys...

and i can only presume it was down to cost!!!!!!

Have you tried superglue remover ? Try taking the lock out first so you can flush the old glue out using wd40 or similar.

you can check your insurance some companys cover for lost keys and broken locks without affecting your no claims bonus.
