Hi everyone,

My dad has owned a CLK 320 Elegance from new since 2000 and wants to sell it to me (and I WANT to buy it!). With us being family, he wants a fair price for it and I want to buy for a fair price.

Could you guys help me out with a rough value for the car?

It has 90k on the clock, is in black, has light black leather seats, is V-reg, has immaculate paint and alloys (garaged last 5 years, no rust anywhere), full Mercedes service history, and a few extras like a CD auto changer, cruise control. It lacks the full climate control unit I have seen inside some CLKs.

Thanks in advance, and I look forward to joining the forum proper as a Mercedes owner!

If it's really, really clean (no rust as you say anywhere) and has full MBSH, I guess upto about £5k would be close?

There are some cheaper/better specced cars about, but there's nothing like knowing the car properly.

The lack of rust and full MBSH are nice points to have :)

Given the mileage I reckon around £4-4500 would be fair.

One owner car fom new, gotta be worth 5K of anyones money if its as loved as you say...:)

i would've said 3-4k, but thats just me i guess.

Is it a facelift one ?

If it is , probably £4500-5000 if it's as nice as you say ...

Maybe a bit less than as it's a pre-facelift car, £3-4k would be more like it I guess.

It's only really worth this much if it truly is mint and has no rust or faults IMHO - there's plenty of average/nice 208 CLKs around, hence I wouldn't pay over the odds for one normally, although I appreciate the 1-owner aspect and knowing the car from new, etc.

I think a member on here (Wemorgan) recently sold a similar car - pre-facelift silver CLK320 with black leather, just under 100k miles etc - and that was about £3k IIRC.

Yes that's correct.

I would honestly say that mine was average in terms of bodywork, since I repaired some minor rust on the wheel arches. Though the interior and mechanicals were in very good condition.

There are a lot of W208 CLK320 on the market and prices for all but mint AMGs will continue rapidly south IMHO. Prices for W209 are become very affordable for the masses.

£3.5 would be my estimate for the OP's car. Maybe offer £4k if you want to do him a favour.

Thanks a lot guys that is very helpful. I also asked another UK MB forum and they seem to say 3.5k in general.
