Hi,I have a 58 320 cdi S Class bought some 6 weeks ago(main dealer) and finally received a service book but its a duplicate one(nothing filled in told they don't do that anymore ? is this the case ) but have got 3 printouts of the services at main dealers.Service 2 26500 miles after the 1st one and also 2 years on which i thought it was every 10k or 1 year.
The other thing was I asked them to change the brake pedal as it was worn on the edge which is a sure sign of high milage (had done 54k) also there is an issue with the drivers seat seems very soft . The car drives very nice and looks excellent but I have a niggle about the mileage, they say its correct me ,not sure, so how to fined out if it is correct.
Thanks
Aidan

The mileage is recorded on one of the chips, but you will need a star machine to read it. Not sure on the service indicator on an S class, but my B Class is annually or when service indicator states. My previous E Class and S Class petrol had only mileage indicator and I once did 18k between services on my E Class.

Yes a star is the only way to read original mileage

If it's a 58 reg, then it must have had a couple of MOTs by now, so you can check the mileage recorded on those at the VOSA website.

late 2008 models should have electronic service book in factory server, I believe? That has been 100% sure, but I just heard rumor that it also has been cracked. Mileage is stored to several places in car, can be read with star, but also it can be 'corrected' everywhere with proper tools.
