How to find out if a car is insured

I don't blame you to be honest... It feels alot better to know the car is insured even if it doesn't really matter... Best bet is to make good friends with a copper who'd be more than happy to make a few phonecalls for you ;)

Another constructive comment Pineer, thanks ! ;)

Any officer that helps this person will be leading themselves wide open to dismissal, or worse. I'm sure there is a time and a place for 'friendship' but getting involved in a very nasty domestic is a route to disaster.

Thank you all for your comments, some appreciated, some not. This thread was not meant to turn into a political discussion about my brother's marital situation, I was simply asking a question to see if it is possible to find out if a car is insured online. No, of course I understand it has no bearing on the likelyhood of an accident occuring, but if she is insured then at least she may have legal cover also, should a claim for personal injury be necessary. IE: If the childeren are harmed.

Here is another thought, maybe you shoudl find out for your brother if all her friends cars are insured, just in case the nippers have to go with them for a trip to the *insert random childrens event*. What about the mini cabs they might go in......

Your brother could always ask for custody of his children (as I did when I separated from my first partner) , then he could drive them around in his own car , which will , of course , be properly insured !

I can't see what having an insured car has to do with the children's saftey? Having no insurance in an accident will not affect the kids, only the mother when the police investigate.
