Start of with a large one and buy a ML :-) .

After this month's failures of another rear spring and a worn steering collumb bush, the inlet manifold has developed a leak through the lever seals. Can't buy the seals from MB so supposedly requires new manifold. As well as being a pig of a job it will be an expensive part. Anyone had this happpen?

Getting really fed up with this car now. £4331 in parts over 12 months seems a bit excessive to me. Going for testdrive in Toyota Landcruiser this afternoon!

Sounds like someone will be buying a used bargain with lots of new parts in it ;)

See if you can find a Ssangyong dealer near you - it's the same car as the Musso and you can bet the Ssangyong customers have shallower pockets than MB owners, you might find they can get the seals instead of the whole item. Just an idea...

Good idea! I'll give it a try.

Thanks.

I just checked online and it turns out they have a new 4x4 model called the Rexton that uses a 2.7l mercedes-benz CDI engine. Hmm :)

It's not that new either.

My ex's brother has had one for several months now. He seems quite pleased with it and not heard of any problems as yet.
