Hi to you all!! Anticipating that spring might finally arrive I would find it very convenient to be able to continue the raising or lowering of my roof even if I start to move off, eg when in a line of stop start queuing traffic.
I read somewhere that it is possible to achieve this via a mod on the SLK roof. Does anyone know what circuit modifications could be made to overide the (there for safety reasons) lock on operation for the SL other than when stationary. For any of the health and safety zealots reading I would not be attempting to do this above 3-5MPH! :thumb:.
Sitting here now I can't actualy recall whether the car actually needs to be in park mode before anything can happen, so I imagine there could be a fair few circuit alterations required to achieve this. All suggestions welcome!

Certainly in the R129 SL it doesn't have to be in Park (as standard) ... just has to be stopped (in drive with your foot on the brake is OK).

I did look at roof modules like the ones mentioned above but decided against in the end. In nine years I've only been caught once (wanting to operate the hood, but not able to stop).

The risk of bu@@ering up any electronics is slight, but the cost could be astronomical if something did go wrong. The roof ECU is in four figures.
