Guys,

I need some help today. I need to pull the overhead panel down. I got the rain sensor cover off, mirror base cover from overhead control panel control unit as well.

Now comes the part where I'm stuck: The mirror itself. WIS says
"Release inside rearview mirror unit by pivoting to the side at the mirror base and at the same time pulling downard out of the mirror mount"

How hard do I have to pull down and do I have to turn the mirror to the left or to the right? As far as I see nothing moves in the mirror mount that would unhook by pivoting.

Thank you!

Can't help you mate, but I recall several write ups with good pics to do with upgrading the little light inside the mirror to led.
Might help in he search.)

Also could you do me a favour once you get inside? I don't have your model but wiring probably similar, I would like to know the colour of the wire that supplies power to the main interior bulb. Idlike to take a link from mine smewhere to power another light. Any chance you could stick a meter on and check?

thanks

I won't open the mirror thought. I have to place the interior motion sensor on/off switch in my overhead control panel.

I will take some pictures for you not a problem!

You have to pull it very hard so be careful. It is easy to punch yourself in the face while doing it!

If you think removing it is hard, wait until you're trying to put it back

When I had to do this, I first engaged one side of the mirror mounting in the roof, then slide a broad flat bladed screwdriver into the other side (between the sprung ball and the roof) - the got my trustee assistant to push upwards while I forced the sprung ball in using the screwdriver as a lever.

Mirror down, mirror down :) What a experience to pull hard to get something off just without breaking it.

You guys were right, down is the easy part, how in the hell does this thing go back up? I used a plier to squeeze the spring together and the little metal spring keeps it closed but how does it go back in?

I looked and the 2 main lights seem to have like 6 cords bundled together to one wire. If you give me your VIN i can give you a print out of your overhead control panel.

Some distance to the project over night, and it went in like nothing this morning. Thanks for everyone who tried to help getting it in and out!
