Hope this is the right section for this!

Does anyone know how to remove multiple tiny chips in a windscreen, caused by gritters?

Can't see them normally, but when the sun shines directly onto the screen, they're really visible!

Best way is a new screen

But folks on Detailing World use a Cerium Oxide paste applied with a polisher to even out scratches and the like....

Yea, new screens the way. Does your insurance not coer it or has it got to be in a worse state than it is?

Alledgedly, the grit they use on our roads is to "soft" to damage paint never mind glass. Can it ever be proved that the grit causes problems, if so could a claim be made to relevant council??

claim under your own insurance, if it impairs your vision your insurance company will more than likely replace it for you rather than have it cause you an accident resulting in a much higher claim
