Thanks I hope so it’s driving me literally round the bend.Welcome aboard Dave, not sure but maybe the sat nav is not seeing the sats,I am sure a member will turn up with a answer.
Back the ebay one, paypal will give you your money backI had bought a card for £39 on ebay but it was useless then I found one with map updates included it cost £99 but turned out to be excellent,
Not sure but maybe a badly written card.
Thanks I checked that and it never has less than 12 satellites showing it is strange how when you make a turn it just looses its way.The GPS antenna could be faulty.
There should be an option in the SatNav menu to check how many satellites it can see. It should see at least 4-5 (though the minimum is 3).
I bought the card from MBI see no mention from the OP that he bought the card on Ebay or how much he paid for it. Am I missing a post or two ?
Yep no problem got that ok.Back the ebay one, paypal will give you your money back
8 months I didn’t use the sat nav for a long while as covid restricted movement so I don’t know how long it has been faulty and the car is just out of MB warranty. How long have you owned the car?
i got that wrong then.I see no mention from the OP that he bought the card on Ebay or how much he paid for it. Am I missing a post or two ?
Thank you so much for the advice, do you happen to know where the fuse is. Although my car is a facelift model with the 10” screen it does not have apple CarPlay this is why I need the sat nav to work. Do you think disconnecting the battery would achieve the same thing?I am assuming your car Audio20 with the optional Garmin Map Pilot navigation on SD-Card?
Try pulling the fuse that protects the infotainment system, to reset the navigation processor.
Other than that, I'm afraid you'll need to take to a car to a specialist who will also have STAR diagnostic equipment (preferably not a franchised dealer, to keep costs down).
The other option is to use Waze or Google Maps via Apple CarPlay / Android Auto. If your car is the facelift model, then it will have Audio20 5.5 and these features can be enabled, if it's pre-facelift then it will have Audio20 5*1, that requires additional hardware to support Apple CarPlay / Android Auto.
