Hi All,

I need to replace the windscreen on my 212 (stone chip/crack) and have a few questions.

Firstly I've just checked and I am covered by my Quotemehappy policy. I guess I need to call/email them for a list of their authorised suppliers.

Q1 - Once I know that how do I make sure I get an OEM replacement? Or does that really matter? FWIW the original is St Gobain?

Q2 - what about the sensors? Mine has three things - I thing they are the rain sensor, the headlight sensor and the night vision camera. Does the fitter just remove them from the old screen and then attach them to the new screen?

Anything else I should be aware of?

Your policy will probably pass you on to Autoglass, who will know exactly what screen is required, and will do it all without fuss.
Yes they will swap over any bits that need it.
Just check it works ok after.

Should all be easy.

If you request an OEM screen you may have to get your insurers prior approval. All 3rd party screen fitter will use pattern parts and will require insurers approval before sourcing an OEM screen.
Been there, done that ...
Autoglass will have all the required kit to re-calibrate the sensors, especially the camera

Thanks. I vaguely remember going through this for my 211, hence asking. In that case I'm not sure it was OEM (ie it didn't have the MB sumbol) but it was from one of the OEM suppliers.

Update; the supplier is Autoglass, the screen is a non-OEM Pilkington. I'll need to take the car to Borhamwood as they can't reset the sensors with the mobile service.

I did mine with autoglass as well, I asked for OEM but they said there's only for cars that are less than 3 years old.
They originally booked me for remote service but when I explained the car complexity with sensors and that I will keep calling them until they get it right, they changed my booking to one of their workshops to get everything calibrated
