C63 AMG
I've just bought a C63 AMG and it's going to arrive soon. As you can imagine I'm planning on taking it out as soon as it gets here but I need to sort out my insurance.
I've had a couple of quotes but can anyone recommend any good specialist insurers?

Congratulations on your purchase ;)

I renewed with Admiral again this year, have always found them to be competitive

Why specialist? C63 seems to be insured by anyone.

Thanks guys but the ones I've approached from seeing on the TV have quite high premiums for me. I've also got a few points for speeding and I was wondering if there were any that might specialise in Mercedes.
I take it you don't have any recommendations?

I always check my insurance first and make sure I am happy with it, before I'd buy any car.

I just used confused.com and comparethematket. It's a mainstream car so comes up on all the web services no problem.

Tesco seems to come up well for cars such as these.
Anyway, if you are in safe postcode -you'll(amazingly)pay a lot less than your twin in his lowly C180 in high risk area.

Thanks guys.

Kinaero, I normally would, but you know what it's like when you come across a car that you instantly fall in love with and have to get it then and there. Granted it was a weak moment, but I'm glad I did it.

I tried a whole bunch of comparisons sites, but they didn't seem all too good.
A friend of mine recommended Keith Michaels. So I rang them up and ended up talking to them for a while, it was a nice change from the others.

I think I'm going to go with them. Incase you want to try them they're on
Performance Car Insurance :: Keith Michaels Insurance PLC

Phfft! for a bog standard normal car yeah those comparison websites will sometimes do, but for any car half decent you want to use a more specialist insurer imo

Try:

Adrian Flux,
Aplan (ask for Dan)
Brentacre,
Greenlight,

im 30 with 7 years no claims i have a 515 bhp fully loaded Nissan Skyline with all mods declared, a £200 excess and i only paid £505 for fully comp insurance with Adrian Flux

my 2 pennies worth :thumb:

cheers

Thanks dubs,
I'll give them a call tonight and see what they say.

I suspected the OP was going to link to an insurance company. [sigh]

original poster - usually when people join and then shortly after link to a business that they recommend it turns out to be a very underhand method of trying to market a business.

Not always... but highly likely.

I just put the link in because I enjoyed my talk with them, if it offends you, I'll edit it out.

You won't now , but you could ask a nice mod ( like Spike for example ) to edit it out for you ? ;)

Bit late, but for any searchers I had a remapped Jeep Commander and Adrian Flux were good value. Lots of insurers wouldn't touch it because of the mods. Not as competitive on the E250 I've just bought though.

Same. Seems common sense, really.
