I-pod in CLK

Hi I have a 2005 CLK with a aux socket in the glove box, the ipod work's ok but there is no indication of it playing, should it show up on the dash?
I didn't expect it to show up on the command screen but thought it would show up on the dash, it also doesn't charge the I-pod from the aux, which I expected, although is this correct. Also the only control I have is the volume on the steering wheel, not being able to change track's with the steering wheel controls.

If your just using the aux then all that transfers is standard audio, so yes it would be correct that you can not use the aux to transfer track info, track control or charging.
