Help required please as I am unable to download pictures from the wonder know as the iCloud. We have Macbook, Ipad and iphone which are all linked to the Cloud but I can't seem to retrieve them for posting.

When moving them from my camera the default is always to the Cloud when I want to put them in Photobucket or a simple folder :dk:

I must be doing something wrong but need advice on what as its driving me nuts :wallbash:

Doctor can't help so hopefully a Forum Member can .......please :thumb:

Thanks
Mike

As you can open them, if the tutorials fail for any reason, you will be able to drag the photos onto the desktop or even capture them individually using "Grab" or even preview if all else fails. Good luck!

Good luck indeed required. Life used to be so simple once!
Now established that Macbook is using OS X Yosemite v 10.10.5 so newer version which is good. Opened the Choose Photos app and chose Photos Preferences. Selected Download originals and now told that I do not have enough available capacity to do this so need to puchase more.

Not so sure this is all that user friendly but it may be an age thing?

Hi, Mike.

If your photos are going into the Photos app on the Mac, and you want them just in a folder, you can export them from there.

The idea with Photos app is that it liberates the photos way beyond just files in a folder. They can be grouped, it can auto detect faces, so when you assign them to contacts, it'll automatically know who is in what picture, you can search for photos of sarah, and it'll go get them, or geolocation, so you can search for "photos of me and sarah in Wales". Much more advanced, but I agree at first it does seem overly convoluted when you just want a folder full of pictures. Some of this functionality is in El Captan, the next iteration of OS X, so good things are comin'

If I've misunderstood, let me know.

Also El Capitan is out soon. The public beta is available for anyone who wants it. Think of it as a more refined version of Yosemite, and the graphics layer "metal" is just infinitely faster than the previous, so it's a good performance upgrade to look forward to at least.

:)
