Unfortunately I cannot find a part number and the description on a Google search isn’t really helpful.

The picture was taken at the front of the engine bay on the passenger side under what I believe is the ABS pump. The hose underneath as stated makes a rhythmic clicking noise (I could feel it as well as hear it with a stethoscope).

The car was only idling and sometimes the noise stopped.

(I also heard the drive belt squealing every so often which I’m aware needs changing.)

I know the information is vague but does anyone have any initial ideas as to what this could be? Is this normal? If not what could it be and what should I be looking for next?

The car is a 1998 C280 V6 Estate and has done around 65k.

Thanks

Don't worry,it's normal,it's the emission control valve that allows fuel vapour to enter inlet manifold
so the engine can burn it.
