Has anyone actually found out the reason the om642 w211 v6 cdi smokes after idling for 5-10mins I’ve seen a few posts about it or similar but not found any end results as of yet. I got the car with oil cooler leak sorted that all new seals on cooler turbo manni’s changed the crankcase breather the inner seal was ripped in original still getting smoke after sitting on idle cheers

Hi.
What color is the smoke?
Is it white with pungant diesel smell? Or it is blue ?

I used to have a W210 E320CDI that smoked after 10 min or so... The exhaust stank of unburnt diesel and strings in the eye.

The issue was fuel injection...
If the smoke is blue then oil getting burnt , couldn't tell from.pics

easy way to tell if unburnt diesel or burning oil is to disconnect elect plug from each injector one at time and replace after a short time , while watching exhaust smoke, if you get to an injector disconnected that stops the smoke, that's the problem, if you get smoke continuously through all the disconnections its not diesel smoke, you will need to clear the faults that you generate disconnecting the injector plugs, but easy if you have a diagnostic tool
have you checked egr pipes to see if they are full of carbon and yuk, that will cause smoking that will be worse when cold
