Image says it all

I'll buy you one if you stop annoying everybody.

It's a kind offer but one that I would be unlikely to qualify for.

I know that my opinions can be out of kilter with some but I can't help this. I could just keep quiet but why should I?

The forum would be incredibly dull if everyone agreed that MBs are the best cars, the dealers are Satan's offspring, insurers are just thieving charlatans who never ever pay a claim, leasing is a gift from above etc.etc.etc...

Only a few members get over exited over my views, some even agree with me whether in public or privately.

I am rarely downright rude, sweary or personal, I don't take offence and can see the funny side in most situations (self deprecating you could say).

Every time i've driven a bmw i've been disappointed with it. Not the same for the Mb's all are a relaxed quite drive with a feeling of being well put together have plenty of pace when required & without being to crashey and noisy.

Bmw's just look bland to me, but as said above it would be boring if we all liked the same.

I've had 6 BMWs - great cars.

I only went off them because I got bored with the styling of the 3, didn't want an M5 because of the gearbox and wasn't ready for the 7.

I'm definitely impressed with the current round of 2,3,4,5 Series and would consider another.

Having driven an M4 at Palmersport - they are incredible cars.

I have owned as many BMWs as Mercedes.

They have all been great for covering long distances at speed and in comfort, spec is similar in each and purchase costs also very similar.

The BMWs have been better to drive/own in two ways:

BMW suspension/chassis set up offers more confident cornering ability, although runflats are not pleasant they can be replaced as a consumer item.

BMW service plans are cheaper.

I've not noticed much difference between the dealer experience and had no dramas at either of them, having said that I seem to be able to get through life without all the difficulty that some posters here seem to encounter.

BMW were very good to me on one occasion and refunded me for parts which were subject to a recall when I had already paid for replacements outside of their network.

In conclusion, despite having two MBs on the drive currently I probably prefer BMW.

Bloody hell I am agreeing with lewyboy again

I drove a new M5 the other day and it's absolutely fantastic. Truly a world class car!

It looks and sounds the part too.

If I could bring myself to buy another car like I have, I'd really struggle in deciding between the M5 and E63 TT.

I think I prefer the M5 actually.

Sacre bleu mon ami!

My brother had an E46 M3 which was wonderful as a sports car, quite hard and quite noisy though, but non the less bloody brilliant. He then had an E60 M5 which was also epic, the gearbox was annoying at low speed and around town, but again it was still bloody awesome. As soon as we heard about the new M5 we thought he would probably get one of those next, although we were a bit shocked by the turbo charging we could forgive that as it was moving with the times and fitting in with the emissions issues. But when we heard about the "fake" engine sound being pumped into the cabin................. that is just not very "M Power" in our opinion, you might expect that from Proton but not from a BMW "M" car.....some respect has been lost, shame really because its still a very good car.

You call a car that has to send out fake sounds from the speakers a world class car!!! Wow!

Like you, I'd had BMWs for the last decade or so, including the M5 and the e90 M3.
Got my first AMG exactly a year ago, and I honestly believe that it is a better handling road car than any BM that I've driven. Sure, the BMs may be sharper on a track but (from my limited experience of AMG) the C63 is more confidence inspiring on the uneven rough old roads that I have to use every day.
If I spent more (any) time on track then I might feel different, but as a fast daily drive the C63 rules for me :thumb:

Engines are just better in AMG's, wayyy better.

Agreed, AMG engines are better but so is road-holding on a real road (as opposed to a billiard table track surface where an M might be a fraction of a second quicker!)

BMW's are totally, like, amazing, I think they're the best ever.

Especially X5's, they're just totally the most amazingest thing I've ever owned or driven.

No way the X6 coupe is the bestest car eva
