My W210 is sometimes used during the course of my work.
The registered keeper is RINGWAY ******.
Recently, when re-insuring the car I noticed the details on the V5 document are incorrect. I know, I should have picked up on this earlier..
The DVLA in their infinate wisdom have the car as being owned by RINGHAM ******.
Quite how they managed to get two out of the six letters wrong is beyond me... Then again, it is the DVLA.
I'm going to get in touch and inform them of the error but I am sure if I had filled in the forms with the wrong details of the registered keeper I'd be in trouble.
I've never had a private registration number, but recently got hold of one that I like for a reasonable price. The problem is that I have to let the previous owner of the plate know the name of the registered keeper of the car the plate is to be transfered to "As shown on the V5 document", yeah, I know...
This is not the first time I have had problems with the incompetence of the DVLA and I find them to be Bl**dy hard work at the best of times.
Will I have to wait for the new V5 document before taking ownership of the plate?
Oh, and what if I got a parking or speeding ticket. I know I wouldn't get away with it and would probably be prosecuted for having incorrect details.
Any views welcomed.
TIA.
Paul.
