Indicator keeps failing on W203

My C320 went through a number of phases of deciding that one indicator after another would decide not to work for a while, then would work, then not etc...
At last main dealer service, there response was "bulbs sometimes build up resistance, so the fault can be intermittent when they are hot"
Erm, yeah ok, sounds like rubbish!
My front left indicator has now decided to stay out of service, so I changed the bulb- but the fault is still there.

I checked the lampholder and the contacts have some carbon arcing on them, so I've cleaned them up but still no resolution.

Anyone with experience of same? I'd appreciate any thoughts before getting it into dealer for fix.

You need the indicator repair kit.

Early W203s had a faulty batch of indicator bulb holders and on 2002 cars the bulb holders were modified. What you need are the updated bulb holders that were modified. I'm sure that there must be a technical bulletin on it some where... Parts Dept at Stealership shoudl have this info...
