What a weekend! Mercedes and Shogun both break down on me! :dk:
Driving home from work 8.30 Friday night about 15miles from home, engine management light comes on and loss of power. Pull over check book, okay to drive. Manage to limp home. Saturday, out and about in Shogun, come back to it, won't start, RAC start it tighten belt and it later shredded it! :fail
I've had the E220 3 weeks and put 2000miles on it. Non Mercedes purchase with 3 year Safe & Sound Ultimate warranty. It has 49,000 miles on it and 2 Mercedes services the last service was done by the garage that sold it to me. It was 3 years old back in December.
Frustrating but not the end of he world. I spoke with the garage that sold it and was advised to go with the Warranty. I'm thinking injector failure but have to wait until Monday to talk with the Warranty holder to see where I am to take it. I'm thinking that they'll want to send it to a local garage for a new injector and be done with it. But, obviously I'd prefer it goes to MB, I may not have this option. :fail
So, now the question. I was always planning to put it into MB to get the recent A service redone to keep the history MB. If the car hasn't previously had the injectors done. Would MB do them as a matter of course/recall or is it outside timescales, etc?
I've popped the engine cover off, Delphi everywhere.

Well, it's with Eddie at Mercare now. I should find out what it is today.

Well, an update. Mercare have been fab and established that the car needs to go to Mercedes for the recall. It seems that the injectors will be replaced by Mercedes under Warranty on Tuesday. They are even arranging for the car to be transported the 2 miles to the MB garage.
So fingers crossed for Tuesday!

It's fixed. Mercare made sure the car got to MB and MB have apparently replaced all injectors, loom and ECU as part of a recall. All seems well with the car! So, pleased to have it back and fingers crossed...

good news with the fix

They replaced the ECU as part of a recall though? seems a bit excessive.

i had mine in recently to tidy up that loom too but they didn't mention anything about an ecu issue

I'm only relating what I think I was told, I was in a hurry to get away though! I'm yet to take a look under the bonnet. I'll do that and report back.
