I have a 98 w210 280 which I have owned since 2000, done 300,000 miles (Total is 325) in her and am loath to consign to the scrapper. Still hits 130+, never failed an mot on emissions, everything works

problem is rust

I need new inner wings

where can I get them?

Anywhere where these are available for a 124? ( O/S ) as the welding required on my inner wing is substantial ( got to make a multi contoured curved repair patch )

i did mine earlier this year. I welded 3 repair patches from sheet steel in after cutting out the rot. ended up from just behind the light, all the way up to just past the relays.

I made a patch like that for my 210.

I made a template from cardboard and so knew the patch would fit when bent. I than cut this out of metal. Tack welded one edge to the inner wing and then bent the patch in situ using a hammer...it worked better than I expected.

yeah thats sort of how i approached it but my hole after i cut the rot out required a few bits of steel... unless concours its a waste of time and effort working with a repair panel on the inner wings i reckon
