Installing new struts - assistance please

Got my struts assembled by a Mercedes independent which I will be installing myself.
Concern is that the mount needs to go into the car like this... Note how the notch ( White arrow ) up at 12oclock position


The part I just got assembled has the notch at roughly 10oclock position




Is there any way to safely rotate it, or will I need to install it first then rotate something ?

Hi, I have a mystery with my E class 2017 W213,
Boot leak water I have sealed the two side trims with silicon. I have sealed the three clips on each side and I have sealed the tail light also the area where you put AdBlue and the diesel, there is a Gaiter, even sealed the antenna hole, still, the car leaking anyone have any idea where to look more please and help thank you all.

Yes, not the rubber part, but the metal looking part on the outside ( which says Febi )
Put the mount up there, tightened it down, then rotated the shock by hand to a more central position and then continued with installation.

Few odd noises from the outer part initially when turning which has now completely stopped as it's bedded in a bit ( some silicone lubricant helped massively )
