Instrument panel dead

Hi everyone im looking for a bit of help. I have a Mercedes c180 on an 02 plate and the instrument panel has died nothing works on it at all,also the headlights stay on as soon as I turn on the ignition.

Could be battery, it was on my E class when the cluster died and other things started playing up. Otherwise it's new or recon cluster time.

Ok I will try the the battery first,that seems to be the cheaper option

Might be worth checking the earth and other connections to the instrument panel if the battery checks out ok. Instuctional video of removal of instrument cluster.
