Friday after work I noticed that my mercedes Benz e350 with engine om642 won't go over 3000rpm with management light present on the dashboard.Today I had car scanned and my guess is that actual actuator motor is fried. Can you guys confirm maybe with your own experience that this is the case. Thank you all for your help and I wish everyone a happy and peaceful Christmas

It is very common fault in OM642, turbo drips oil on motor and eventually it fails. However, check fuses first.

I disconnected all to see if Turbo leaks and I can see it's leaking on motor/connection plug. I bought new seals and resistor plug and will attempt repair/bypass of the actuator tomorrow. Hopefully it will fix my problem. I would replace the actuator itself but this is too expensive for me at the minute. Thanks for the info 😌

Problem sorted. Turbo sealed and resistor adapter installed. Check engine cleared by obd Bluetooth reader that I bought from Amazon for £17.Well happy that my coupe is back in the road and I didn't spend money that I don't have for costly repairs 😃Is this method of dealing with failed motor will be a permanent fix?

Good job buddy , it’s pretty permanent. My resistor has been in for 40k miles . If I remove the batwing for any reason I normally just change the resistor for a new one just in case .

Mate my resistor the fancy one just fried and car back in limp mode again. What tape do you use to isolate resistor please

I have used most recently the shrink to fit electrical tube (wide stuff)
I’m sure I’ve used electrical tape in the past but that does dry out a lot with heat

Thanks. How would you put that sleeve on the resistor. It's so small heh
