Sure I've seen this posted, but can't find the thread.

Very rarely the intelligent headlights on my E63 don't work. Next journey they're fine. Yesterday I got the message on the dash that the lights weren't working, but a few minutes later I got the message the system was working again. I've never had that mid journey.

Any ideas what could cause the system to work then rectify mid journey? Not something I intend to get fixed yet as it happens so rarely, just curious.

I have the same issue on my 2019 C200. It has been back to Mercedes twice for this, first time they resealed the camera as they thought condensation was getting in, second time they did a software update. Neither of these cured the problem it's now booked in again and this time they are going to replace the camera.

I never had this issue with my previous 2017 C300 with the same system.

Interesting, thanks. I did wonder about moisture in the camera.

Good luck getting it sorted; please post an update with how you get on.

Will do. Unfortunately due to the camera taking three weeks to get to dealers it's not going in until the 8th Jan.

I had the same problem on my 212. It was the auxilary battery needed replacement

Actually, now you say it, this might be my problem, as I think the stop/ start also wasn't working on my last journey....

I hope it's that as it's a simple fix!

Does this happen at the start of your trip or randomly during the trip? On my 222 it often happens when I start driving from a warn garage and the outside temperature is significantly lower. It is clearly about condensation at the camera area and goes away soon after the heating there works.

The influence of the AUX battery or start/stop battery sounds odd, the high beam assist should not need any backup power but then again, some unrelated features like cruise control are switched of on some car. Probably to force the driver to have the car fixed.

Thanks for the insight. Last time it happened it wasn't available at the start of the journey, but was available a few mins later. My car is kept outside.

However, today I tried to use 100 miles into the journey and it didn't work. No message either. I did wash the car yesterday, so now worrying that's contributed to the camera condensation 🙄

It the high beam assist does not work on such a long journey, there must be something wrong. Are you sure you had changed to high beams and light switch at auto?

If it was not working, there would need to be some kind of an alert (at the time auto high beams are switched on). Are you sure you did not clear the warning message? It should still appear in the cluster menu "fault memory", cannot remember how it is called there.

Yes; I tried switching between manual and auto several times to be sure, but nothing worked. Usually the message appears when you push the lever forward to activate main beam when on auto...I was watching the dash and didn't see the message, but will check again!

Mine stopped working after 20 mins normally it stops after around 6 mins, I parked up and looked at the top of the screen where the camera is and there was a lot of condensation.

However this does not happen everyday and sometimes happens in the summer.

My car is parked outside all the time.

I wonder if this has something to do with the pano roof and plexi glass panel between roof and windscreen.
