Interference loud static car won’t start

***UPDATE*** So i took the speaker making the static noise out and the problem went away i was just down a speaker which wasnt that big of a problem, however a few weeks back i started the car up and left it runniing for 10 mins or so when i jumped in the car i noticed a smell like a burning smell but it wasnt very strong so i put it down to just not starting the car up for a few weeks after 15 mins of driving a bit of smoke came out of the front centre speaker cutting a long story short im taking my car to a specialist to investigate this problem so will update soon again soon the specialist thinks it could be the amp.

So too the car to a local garage they had her a week almost but said they couldn’t find any thing wrong the took the amp and command system out and tried both independently and were fine. The only difference between these settings are when I had the problem we’d had heavy rain. I’ve had the car garage a few weeks now so she’s all dry and I plugged the fuses back in and I have perfect audio again no smoke at all or smell coming from the speakers. It’s gotta be a wiring loom fault maybe caused by a leak somewhere right?

Fault finding …… Halfords & Kwik Fit :fail:

Just NO…..

They don’t have the correct equipment, knowledge, expertise, or specialist knowledge.
Ask for recommendations for an independent MB specialist near you. Or even better an expert Car Audio Expert with deep knowledge of the MB audio systems such as Comand in Surrey.

Taking a speaker out didn’t clear the fault, it only stopped you hearing a symptom - there could be chaffed wiring/amp problems on that channel. The fact you then had further issues with burning smells and smoke prove the issue is still there.

The company I took it to had lots of good recommendations and experience however they didn’t specialise in MB and they said they hadn’t had many c63s in so I should have known. I’ll have a good look online again thanks for the advice.
