Interior fan

Hi everyone, my interior fan speed is up and down like a yoyo, it just wont stay at a constant speed, anyone got any ideas what it could be .

Wifey's W202 does this if it is set to 1. Does your fan yoyo on all settings ?

While we are on the subject, and rather starting a new thread, I thought I would ask a quick question;

On my 300ce 1990 when I switch the fan to the full speed position (IIII) it doesn't go any faster that the III speed. This was also the case on my 300te (124) and my 560sel (126). Is it a common fault? Or is it supposed to be that way?

sometimes it is the switch. If you push the knob in and out or apply slight pressure in either direction (without actually turning it) does it speed or slow?

Mine did and I fixed it by taking the switch assembly out and dosing it liberally with switch cleaner. That was 20 months ago and apart from the occaisional freak out it is still working fine.

I had a similar problem with my ce and it was the switch. Cheap enough to buy one from anyone breaking mercedes

I WOULD SAY YOU NEED A NEW BLOWER MOTOR REQULATOR

I still think it's the brushes. Easiest way to find out is take the thing out and have a look at it, it takes about 10 minutes to have the fan motor in your hands
