Intermittent roof operation

Hi my roof is playing up on my CLK 230k cab sometimes windows go down when open roof but then nothing if I close windows and try again sometimes works ok . Had roof down all day went to close nothing tried switching off and tryin again started to pannick as looked like rain then worked ok. Getting worried to open now.
Anyone had same trouble?

yeah i had the same problem - roof was work all ok, and then it just started to play up!! but not closing or not going down
is the red light - lighting up on the roof switch?


have you looked at the following?

1. hydraulic fluid in the pump (is it low?)
2. checked that the pump relay is working ok?
(relay is on the back of the pump)
3. Disconected the battery for a bit - to see if the whole system resets itself?
(remembering not to close the boot tho!!!!)

think i have found the problem with the roof it could also be a fault with
the roof control unit - i had a diag done at MB and they said i need a new
roof control unit!!!! aaaaaaaarrrrrrhhhhhhh!

Roof switches are a VERY common cause for sticky clk cab. Astar should pick up the fault codes.
