Intermittent wiper SL 129

I have a 1993 SL 129 with a fault on the Intermittent wiper, that isn’t parking correctly.

I have removed the wiper assemble took it all apart cleaned and re greased it. However when I select intermittent, it wipes once - parking on the left, then after a few seconds back to the right, it might even do a left - right parking properly, then it might park over the tax disk or in the centre of the screen, if I select normal speed for a few minute then reselect intermittent it seems ok .. what could it be??

Had similar problem wiht my '93 C220.Turned out to be a dry joint in the circuit board on the control unit. On the W202 the unit is located in the engine bay on the driver's side.There's a black box, take the cover off and the unit is plugged in there. I held it with my fingers and moved it slightly and the wiper worked o.k, when I let go it went wrong again stopping at different positions. Opened the unit and found two dry joints,2mins with the soldering iron and all was o.k. I don't know whether your car will have the same set up but it is the same year of manufacture so it's possible some items might be similar. Hope this might help anyway, best of luck.
