Does anyone know when we can expect the official MB iPhone 4 cradle? It's fine on bluetooth, but I have pre-wiring and am fed up having to put it in the glovebox to get the music interface. It would also be nice to get a charge when in the car

We have yet to hear when it will be released. In the meantime your ipod kit/interface may well charge the iphone. The newer kits do. If not you can get a small adapter that will charge it.

The instant the iphone 4 cradle is available we will stock it and announce it here first.

I have heard that some people have taken to 'modifying' a 3G cradle so the iphone 4 fits into it!

I never thought of the cable charging the phone. It does charge my iPod so it probably will. That said, I am fed up having to put the phone in the glove box whenever I want music off it!

My 2010 E250 fitted with media cable in the glove box and a Nav50 head unit does indeed charge my Iphone4.

It doesnt charge an Iphone3 though.

I've an old ipod 40gb that I use for music in the car....however, the control of it is rubbish as the display only shows the first few characters etc and there is no display on the command screen....is there any way to improve the interface experience....?....its a 2006 w203 with ipod lead connected to the command aux input (proper merc one)

interestingly, the old ipod charges but my iphone 4 doesn't......need to use bluetooth for the phone connex

There's a separate adaptor available as I believe the iPhone 4 requires 5v power suppy which is different to older iPhone's and iPod's. Costs around £35 from Mercedes-Benz dealerships.
