Can anyone help please, I've seen the cables available to purchase but not sure which one I need for my car.

I have the cables but they only suit the old style iphone 4 connector. I don't believe they do a "lightning" connector version?

What about getting a 30 pin to lightening adapter on the end?

I've seen ones on eBay that do lighting pins, even if I could just get an AUX connection. Do you know any available?

Be aware that no audio comes out of the lightning port on an iPhone. The headphone port is the only wired audio link.

I'm not sure that is true. Images certainly don't work but digital audio is transmitted through an Apple lightening connector however most sold on eBay aren't official and don't do this.

The best way in your car is to instal the iPod connector kit replacing the aux socket and use an iPod for audio
